The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run in and they are safe. Proverbs 18:10
The character of God is a tower of strength. The lovers of God run into His heart...and be exalted on high.
Proverbs 18:10, The Passion Translation
God's name is a place. His beautiful and powerful presence is found in His name.
Friends, calling on the names of God is one of our most powerful prayers. We enter His presence through His name.
Pray like this: 'Our Father, dwelling in the heavenly realms, may the glory of Your name be the center on which our lives turn.' Matthew 6:9
One morning I was meditating on Proverbs 18:10 and thinking about how all the names of God surround the place of prayer. How God gave us each of His names to reveal His love for us and His relationship to us. His names help us understand who He is.
And then I realized that God was not named.
You and I were named by our parents with the hope that we would grow up to be what that name meant to them. Perhaps it meant beauty, strength, or royalty.
God was never named. God is, and was, and always will be. There wasn't one who went before Him. He is...the Great I Am.
But...He gave US His name.
Each of His beautiful names are His covenant promises toward us, who love Him. And to His enemies, His name declares that He has all authority.
"I Am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:8
His names reach toward us. They surround us. They are above us. They echo from everlasting to everlasting without end. They whisper His love and protection. They are a Father's heart toward His own. His name is His peace over us. His name declares to all of creation, "I am the Author".
Jesus is the name of God in the flesh. His name means salvation. By the wonderful name of Jesus we are saved.
Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Romans10:13, Acts 2:21
We run into His Name, the resting place of His love, and we are safe.
In the 23rd psalm we see what the "place" of His name looks like.
It is a place where we must be led. We enter by the Good Shepherd, Jesus. It is a wide-open space near quiet waters. It is a place where He restores our soul and feeds us in safety. As we explore this place, it says He leads us on the right paths for "His name's sake".
The shadow of His name covers us in Psalm 91. It is the blessing place where you are hidden in the strength of God.
"When you sit enthroned under the shadow of (the name)Shaddai, you are hidden in the strength of God Most High.
He's the hope that holds me and the Stronghold to shelter me,
the only God for me, and my great confidence...
You can run under His majesty and hide...
He says...
I will greatly protect you. I will set you in a high place, safe and secure before My face.
Psalm 91 TPT
I began to prayerfully meditate on a list of the compound names of our God that correspond with the new covenant: Jehovah-tsidkenu, The Lord My Righteousness, Jehovah-m'kaddesh, The Lord Who Sactifies, Jehovah-shalom, The Lord is Peace, Jehovah-shammah, The Lord is There, Jehovah-rophe, The Lord Who Heals, Jehovah-jireh, The Lord's Provision Shall Be Seen, Jehovah-nissi, The Lord My Banner, and Jehovah-rohi, The Lord My Shepherd.
I closed my eyes and I began to "hear" in my spirit the sound of each of these names...and then He gave me a vision of the Secret Place.
The Secret Place
I am in a wide-open place. Gentle hills are all around, covered with soft, green grass.
I sit down and notice the small, delicate flowers over it all.
His name, Jehovah-Rohi (The Lord my Shepherd) sits with me, listening.
With tender care, He shears the weight off of me. He locates thorns and irritations and removes them. There is a warm oil He pours over me for comfort. He cleanses my eyes and ears with the oil. He makes me lie down and I rest in the gentle sun. The light enters every cell.
With my eyes closed, I hear flowing water. A beautiful sound all around me.
I hear the name of God in the water...Jehovah-M'Kaddesh (The Lord Who Sanctifies). I am carried by the water. It lifts me. I am dancing with the water. It surrounds me and turns me. I stop and drink. It is sweet and cool and energizing.
In the distance, I hear a crack of lightening and the roar of thunder. It shudders the borders of the Secret Place. The Accuser has tried to approach, but the name of the Lord, Jehovah-Tsidkenu (The Lord my Righteousness) has responded. He separates me from my past sin like a lightening bolt. It is violent and powerful. The vibration shakes my bones, but it comforts me. Accusation and condemnation cannot enter this Holy Place. The thunder declares the power of the cross of Jesus Christ and the life of His resurrection. Jehovah-Tsidkenu has set the border.
The quiet returns. I notice a soft wind behind me AND before me. It also flows from the right and left of me. In the wind is the name of the Lord, Jehovah-Shammah (The Lord is There). Movement. Love. Breath. The cool, comforting breath of a mother over her child.
I hear the words, "I am known".
I sense wisdom. His love for me is eternal.
The air moving makes me aware of curtains all around. They are light-infused and other-worldly. They flow and move, surrounding this Holy Place. In this material, His name is revealed, Jehovah-Shalom (The Lord is Peace). Guarding. Establishing the Presence. Everlasting and Secure. Delicate and Beautiful. Gentle and Humble.
I see a Warrior. He sits on a white horse and has the voice of a lion. His horse runs and His sword is held high. He patrols the borders. His words are proclaimed in a lion's roar...I listen. He speaks who I am! He is talking about me. "The overcomer! The victorious! The forgiven!"...and so much more.
His words echo like a song in this Holy Place.
Jehovah-Nissi (The Lord my Banner) speaks! Like banners flying above me, His words are alive. His name and my name are forever connected in the covenant song.
There is a rock. I walk toward it. I want to get close. When I recline on it, it is like a mold cast just for me. It follows the shape of me. The rock IS His name, Jehovah-Rophe (The Lord Who Heals).
It is magnetic. But not to metals, magnetic to sin. When I make the choice to lay down...it pulls the sin. The force is like a purifying fire, it removes the impurities...absorbing sickness, disease, weakness, grief, lack, and bitterness from me. It is not automatic. I must release every one of these by name...with my words. My words unlatch them to be pulled away by this invisible force. When it is done, the work is complete. Nothing is left. I am weak with unfamiliarity.
When I rise, there is bread and wine. It seals the work and brings me strength and joy.
The One who hands it to me is named Yeshua (The Rescuer), the Messiah, Jesus Christ.
Son of Man, the Son of God. The Lamb of God. The King of Kings. I see His scars. I see His eyes. I feel His friendship.
I am only here in this Holy Place because He invited me here.
My gratitude is overwhelming. He saved my life.
I have no words to speak.
He makes me stand and gives me His garment. It is still warm as He puts it on my arms and over my shoulders. It fits me perfectly.
It is beautifully threaded in scarlet and is royal in its design.
It is suitable to wear as I walk toward the Throne Room.
The Throne Room is a structure elevated on a hill more beautiful and expansive than any earthly wonder. I am able to enter because I am royalty. My royalty is based on the garment Yeshua gave me.
This is the place of the name of the God above all names. YAHWEH. THE GREAT I AM. El ELYON. ELOHIM. EL SHADDAI.
A temple that is everlasting, powerful, and indestructible.
As I enter the courtyard, which is immense, I look above and notice on the ceiling is the name Jehovah-Jireh, I am Your Provision. The King of the Universe. The King of Glory. The King above all Kings.
His gifts are all flowing here. There are different courtyards. Stones on the ground lead you on clear paths to the different courtyards. Some are for the soul, others for the body, others are spiritual, financial, for relationships...and more. The paving stones have words written on them. I realize they are promises concerning those specific courtyards. These are the will of God. To enter the courtyards of provision you need to follow the will written on the pavers. The courtyards contain the provision:
Gifts beyond what we have ever imagined.
The vision ended here. I know there is a so much more beyond those courtyards. Infinitely more.
The last thing I understood in the Spirit was,
"This Holy Place I have shown you is in the heart of every believer.
It IS the secret place of the Most High."
He also had me turn to this scripture:
"And now we have run into His heart (His names) to hide ourselves in His faithfulness. This is where we find His strength and comfort, for He empowers us to seize what has already been established ahead of time...an unshakable hope!
We have this certain hope like a strong, unbreakable anchor holding our souls to God Himself.
Our anchor of hope is fastened to the mercy seat which sits in the heavenly realm beyond the sacred threshold, and where Jesus, our forerunner has gone in before us. He is now and forever our royal Priest." Hebrews 6:18-20
I invite you to enter into the Secret Place. God knows you and His face is turned toward you. He is revealing Himself through His names.
With your heart, begin by calling His name "Holy". Then call on the name of Jesus. He will lead you in.
Find your Father's names and your soul will be anchored to God Himself.
In Him,
Teresa
